Formula 1 is the world's premier single-seater motorsport championship, governed by the FIA. Ten constructor teams each field two drivers, competing across 22 races worldwide in the 2026 season — with Cadillac making it an 11-team, 22-driver grid for the first time since 2016.
Teams design and build their own cars within strict technical regulations, pushing engineering and driver skill to the absolute limit. The championship awards two titles: the World Drivers' Championship (WDC) and the World Constructors' Championship (WCC).
Points are awarded to the top 10 finishers in each race. No bonus points are given for fastest lap in 2026.

A standard race weekend runs Thursday–Sunday. Some rounds use a shorter Sprint format with a mini-race on Saturday.
Six rounds per season use a compressed Sprint Weekend format. There is only one free practice session — teams must commit to a setup with minimal data, raising the stakes considerably.
